🇨🇭ZURICH BARBEL!🎣Had just a few hours to fish, and hit some areas that I explored over two years ago. Fished there one day back in 2017. Have this barbel cast to catch on video. The day fishing pass is about $30. A beer costs about $10 in the city. My set up was simple: single barbless @vmchooks Tech Set hook, 8lb Sufix Advanced Mono, @daiwausa Legalis, and @stcroixrods Triumph Travel Medium Spinning Rod. This an easy to use, all-around affordable fishing travel gear set to target bass, walleye, trout, carp, panfish, etc. I caught a number of fish in that time before the heavy rain started. There are very specific rules when fishing across Switzerland, differs city to city, Canton to Canton, and even parts of the lake. The balcony scenery is screen saver worthy. It’s less than a minute walk from Wengen Train Station to the hotel’s front door. There’s a full spa and workout gym. Along with an outdoor hot tub with an amazing view of the valley. The heated towel rack is a huge bonus, I wish these were common in US hotels. The night sky lit up, with Orion being clearly visible even with the glare of a mead full moon. Can’t imagine how bright the stars would be otherwise. First heard about this lake two years ago when I last visited Switzerland. Been waiting a long time to get the chance to fish it! With only a couple hours of shore fishing time I was able to catch a half dozen small lakers. This place is frozen over 4-5 months out of the year. It’s nice to have caught a lake trout both in North America and Europe! So much planning goes into the one chance to fish only an hour or two in a foreign lake or river (completely unguided) with a handful of baits, hoping it pays off! Even though the trout were small, it was a lot of fun. The Canton of Bern day fishing pass was about $30 USD...about $5 a trout, lol. Fishing is NOT allowed there anymore. This water is fed by a ground water stream. Big THANKS (Merci beaucoup!) to @alex.cyril for the factory tour, it was fascinating seeing the entire process from start to finish! VMC has been around for over 100 years. Lots of history. After seeing all that goes into making a single VMC hook, I have a much greater appreciation, respect and CONFIDENCE in this amazing brand. No cameras are allowed inside....but the people, engineering and multiple QUALITY CONTROL steps is amazing!
